Features
(1) We are a “miscellaneous category school” officially approved by the City of Tokyo.
We are a “miscellaneous category school” whose curriculum, facilities and equipment have been inspected and approved by City of Tokyo.
(2) We are a Japanese language school fully accredited by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education.

(3) The Japanese Language School is operated by Katayanagi Institute.
This Japanese language school is a sister school of Tokyo University of Technology, Nihon Kogakuin College, Nihon Kogakuin College of Hachioji and Nihon Kogakuin College of Hokkaido. A Certificate of Graduation from the Japanese Language School is advantageous to those wishing to enter the above sister schools.
(4) Entrance fee waiver policy
For those who have received Certificate of Graduation from the Japanese Language School and entered the sister schools, the entrance fees and selection fees will be waived.
(5) Commuter passes for students available
A special discount for students is available for their commuter passes.
In addition, there are some student discounts for train tickets during long-term vacations.
(6) Intercultural interaction with Japanese students
The Tokyo University of Technology and Nihon Kogakuin College, sharing the same campus, have an enrollment of approximately 8,000 Japanese students. Access to the University and the College is easy and convenient. We offer a rich environment full of opportunities to actually use and apply your new Japanese language skills for intercultural communication and the development of international friendships. Students at the Japanese Language School also participate in campus events such as the “Taiku-sai” (Sports Festival) and the “Kamata-sai” (Kamata School Cultural Festival).
(7) Housing
We can ease your concerns about housing for we are happy to introduce dormitory facilities as well as off-campus apartments.
(8) Convenient Access
The Language School is very conveniently located about 30 min from Haneda airport by bus, 20 min from Tokyo station by train, and 3 min walk from JR Kamata Station. Not only do you have almost instant access to Metropolitan Tokyo itself, including of course Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Odaiba, but Yokohama and historical Kamakura with its Great Buddha are within easy reach.
